by | Oct 4, 2024

On Saturday, October 5, the charming town of Loomis, California, will transform into a vibrant festival ground as it hosts the Loomis Fruit Shed Fest. This event, formerly known as the Loomis Eggplant Festival, promises to be filled with fun, food, and community spirit. Here’s what you can expect from this exciting celebration.

A New Chapter in Loomis Tradition

The Loomis Fruit Shed Fest marks a new chapter in the town’s tradition of celebrating its agricultural heritage. The festival aims to honor the town’s history while embracing the future by broadening the focus from eggplant to various fruits and local produce. The event will highlight Loomis’s rich agricultural roots, foster community spirit, and promote health and wellness.

A Day Packed With Activities

The festival offers various activities to cater to all ages and interests. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Free Pancake Breakfast: From 8 to 10 AM, start your day with a delicious pancake breakfast at Firehouse Station 18. It’s a perfect way to fuel up for a day of fun.
  • Opening Ceremony: The official opening ceremony will occur at the Train Depot at 10 AM, complete with pomp and circumstance, including a flyover.
  • Live Music: Enjoy live music all day with bands like 40n6 Jazz and Island of Black and White rocking the Main Stage. Whether you prefer to swing or sway, there’s something for everyone.

  • Chalk Art Contest: Show off your inner Picasso with chalk. This temporary art form allows you to go wild and creative.
  • Craft Beer and Wine: Sip on local brews and wines while marveling at Loomis’ agricultural prowess.
  • Family Fun Zones:
    • Kid Zone: With bounce houses, face painting, and balloon animals, kids will have a blast. All-day fun is available for just $10.

Why Loomis?
